It annoys me to see wedding guests in kilts period, to be honest! At least, it annoys me when they are ostensibly English.... 'Ooh yes' [in plummy home counties accent] 'My great grandmother's great Aunt was from Peebles - I've always felt a strong kinship with the Scotch people'....

Well, it was an English-born male, of German descent, who popularised the kilt in Scotland: George IV. After all, we all borrow across borders. You have, eg, chosen the expression 'period' from American English, rather than our native 'full stop'.

Peebles is not far into Scotland. Just a kick in the kilt from where I live.It annoys me to see wedding guests in kilts period, to be honest! Normally yes, and I will offer comment for the December Comp. Novembers judge is in a different time zone, so lets wait and see. A quick look and he has posted comment as a judge previously
