Modern Art

A few of us from Durham Photographic Society were given permission to photograph the work of the four shortlisted finalists for the 2011 Turner Prize, held for only the second time ever outside The Tate Modern in London - at The Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
I made three visits between November 2011 and January 2012. I went with the mindset of a photographer, not an art crtic and discovered pictures within pictures within the huge room sized installations. The work of Karla Black and Hilary Lloyd inspired me most to work with my K5.

Tripods and flash photography were not allowed so all the pictures were in tungsten light and fairly high ISOs.
