Mixed Lighting

Quite, I was thinking of lighting portraits or small objects, but it does always depend on the subject. I wouldn't rule out trying anything. I was looking for a good example and the perfect one I can't find, so here's an imperfect one!
Thats a fantastic shot John, if i saw that pic on an E-bay listing I would buy it in a shot

(But you're right - it is a good shot.)

Did you stop to read the name on the camera, Clarky? You might find some lens compatibility issues.
On the other hand he may well have fallen in love with the camera and the superb pics it produced
I miss my Om30

I could have put the light on but then there would have been a mix of tungsten and daylight.
I've pulled the quote from another thread but I thought it worth mentioning that mixed lighting should not be underestimated - it can look great.
Daylight with a bit of tungsten added can give gorgeous reddish highlights to a subject and the effect can be Quite Interesting.
The point I'm making is don't avoid things just because the books tell you it's not done. Try it and see.
