OMG, cheers for this, mate. So it seems if something happened to my K-5, I can get a K-x as back up.

I looked at the k5 as well.. the kr just made more sense for me... for most people that don't have the kind of stuff I've amassed I'd say the k5 and a kx as back up would be a great solution.
But with two k10's, a ds2 and three camcorders... the k5 would mean another propriety battery and charger to lug around.... and we got a kr at a really good price, just forty bucks more than the kx... it was a no brainer...
I'd suggest NOT waiting for something to go wrong with the k5, just snap up a kx (or kr + AA adaptor) as spare body anyways, if you don't already have a spare...

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.
