Miror lock up

To some extent I suppose you're right but then again aren't we all?
We didn't have to go digital or have a HiFi system or a colour TV or a computer or a car with ABS and central-locking......we all embrace new technology in one form or another and there's usually a less technologically advanced alternative.

While I accept that you actually quite like the K10D, if you're so unhappy with its specification and handling, why do you own one?

This is the third attempt I've made to post on this subject, both other times the PC has crashed on me, perhaps it's telling me something.

Viewfinder, thanks for the list of things you'd like to see on a DSLR. Some, I think, are potentially 'nice to haves', others, as George pointed out, are already embodied on the K10D, some I feel are superfluous.

The moveable, liveview LCD is obviously something a lot of people would like, especially if they were used to them on their compact camera, or if, like you and ChrisA, there is a specific need for such a feature. I might use it, but I doubt it. For me it would constitute a gimmick.

The square sensor, with extra buttons to press to orientate the jpeg, is again a good idea in some respects, but would increase the 'button pushing' required before a photo, which surely increases the complexity? I, and many others it seems, are perfectly happy with the current set-up.

The 2-second timer with mirror-up is perfect for me, I can't agree with your statement that it's 'useless'. I can compose, press the sutter release, and the camera takes care of the mirror-up, then puts it straight back down so I can recompose if necessary. It suits the way I work. For me it's ideal - I'd hate to have to keep flipping the mirror up and down after every shot.

Oh yes, the cable release. I use a wired release. I plug it in and use it exactly the same way that I used the old type that screwed in. Except that it transmits much less vibration to the camera. Oh, and I can use it from 80+ feet away (I've got a long extension). I see abhsolutely no reason why I should need a mechanical release. Admittedly, I was a bit wary the first time I got a camera with just the electronic release, but soon found it to be better.

Can't remember all the things you listed, and it's dropped off the bottom of this page. And, quite frankly, it's a list that's personal to you. Mine would be different, as would most other peoples.

Perhaps you could endeavour to answer my points instead of being gratuitously rude. But I do appreciate that it might be more difficult. Being offensive and making absurd and sweeping generalisations is much easier than addressing the facts.

Nonetheless, it's true. Something that can't be said of most of your statements.
