Miranda 700 cd with Kx

Hi Peekie;

Actually, i do not have any other body to try it on and only flash I have is older flash I mentioned above. Actually, I used that older unit with mt fujifilm S9600 before I buy Kx. It did not fry digital camera but I am still concerned about using it on Kx.

I have an old Miranda 500CD which works perfectly on my K-x and on my K-5 when set to the 'Pentax' mode (it is multi-dedicated as is the 700CD). However, strangely it will not fire when attached via a hot-shoe cable extension.

I suspect that the Miranda flash units may be a little sensitive to the trigger voltage and possibly yours is more sensitive than some.

I believe Pentax are ISO10330:2002 compliant, which states a 25 volt standard as maximum flash trigger. I wouldn't chance the older unit if I were you! David might well have identified the answer to your problem in his post.

I think i am going to buy another cheap flash unit on ebay to try on my kx.
