I have a very old but still serviceable Metz 45CT-5 + Metz C81 adaptor + Pentax 5P cord which was my main flash when I had my Pentax SFX film cameras.... Does anyone know if this combination can be used with my Pentax K-x.. Thanks in advance

I've moved this to the Flash forum.

Your existing flash set up will work in manual or auto if the Metz supports that. Your set up is TTL whereas the cameras now uses a different protocol, PTTL. This means that the camera body is unable to control the flash

I have a Pentax KX from the 1970's and have used it with my Mecablitz 45 CL3 in the Hot-shoe and camera has a standard PC synch socket for studio flash leads or the standard Metz flash lead and it all works ---

But the OP was asking about the K-x, which is a digital SLR, Peter.
