Memory cards

In the case of SRS, just phone Chris and he will want to help you.

In tha case of the SDHC cards I would return them and if there's a problem report it to Amazon. They can't know everything that goes on with an individual Marketplace seller unless told.

In the case of the eBay seller, then always contact the seller first and establish what they are going to do to solve the problem. If that fails, then a PayPal claim is the final step.

These things happen, but when they happen all at once it does get a bit wearing that's for sure. I'm just waiting now for a very slow seller to send an item - this one is always the same, has to be prompted but sends good stuff in the end.
Best regards, John

Shim, Please keep us updated as to whether the seller refunds for the memory card. I'm thinking of cutting my losses and selling mine on eBay instead.

Dust speck: It won't affect image quality unless it is really large, but may affect resale value if it large enough to mention. At least you know with SRS that they will replace or refund if asked.

I won't be in a rush to use an Amazon merchant again. Bullshit merchant, more like. I bet the reason he did this was because of Amazon's set list of items. Sellers can't specify an item not on the list.

What a stupid rubbish system compared to eBay ...and people complain of eBay's fees
It was an Amazon seller that was flooding the web with fake Sandisk cards not long ago. I might test this card and see what speed it is, although I don't fancy risking using it. If it was Kingston I would have kept it.

The seller may claim that I'm not entitled to a refund as he mentioned the different card in the comment in the small print (that I missed). Amazon - I don't know if they would help me.

I suspect the card is OK but not as fast as a white Toshiba. As you've noticed as well, Toshiba cards tend to work faster than advertised.

It certainly didn't have that on the listing when I ordered Pete. As you know the Toshiba's are hard to come by and I'm very wary of anyone advertising them and make absolutely sure they are what they say.

I'd better not test it. It will mark the copper strips.

True, but there's only one way to find out!

Might cost me £9.45 to find out, whereas I could do something else instead: use or sell the card.

I don't know if the comment here was added later or not:

Just got a Pentax 55-300mm lens off SRS that has quite a large dust speck behind the front element. I don't know whether to send it back or not. I would never have accepted it from a shop shame my local shop Kamera were out of stock. I've just returned a mint(LOL)Pentax 80-320mm to an ebay seller because the plane of focus was at about 45 deg and the lens had a bad wobble.

shim[/quote]Send it back shim, it is defective and claim all postage cost under the distance selling regulations.

I've given the seller the minimum feedback score of one and said that they sent me some cheap unknown crape? instead of the Top Quality Japanese Made Toshiba Card I ordered. Hopefully Amazon will take note of that. I've emailed the seller from the Amazon site and asked them to get a carrier to pick up the card or send me the cost of recorded delivery plus the £9.45 I paid.

Under the distance selling regulations you are allowed to return the card for a refund during 7 days even if it is what you ordered. It's actually explained on Amazons site. Unfortunately they refer you to the sellers site and that isn't anything like as pleasant with T&C. But they haven't a leg to stand on, because they have admitted that there is an error in the listing.

This is the listing before they removed the name Toshiba

I complained to the seller and also to Amazon. Amazon have given me an option of claiming a refund directly via them, I think.

Shim, Pete, I too have been duped by this rascal (edited )
Have been onto their feedback and I presume it's your feedback Shim . They have added a comment underneath.

Seller Response: "The item you are talking about has always been an Integral 4gb card. You are of course more than welcome to send this back to us for a full refund. "

I too will be e-mailing the seller asking to pick up the card or re-imburse me the postage.

Hi Pete, I received an email from the seller and he's going to refund.

================paste===================================
Hi there

Thanks for contacting me about this. You are of course entitled to return
this item to me, however please be aware that this item is clearly marked on the Amazon site as being an Integral Card, im still happy to take it back however please simply post it to me at the following address.

etc.

I'm still going to make him pay for recorded delivery and send him another nasty email about misleading me (and now lying) into thinking it was a Toshiba card, technically just showing the Toshiba card photograph is a trading offense. It's a matter of principal that I'm going to pursue it further. Too many of these sellers, like the one I bought the supposedly mint lens on ebay off, just send you any old junk knowing that the most it will cost them is a refund. It's a pity that there's no way of getting them fined/prosecuted for what is a trading offence. At least I gave him bad 1 star feedback.
