i use the cheap cactus triggers and they work well so i see not reason why these should not and it you get no success you still have a remote

here is a link to a trigger which might explain better as you can see the reciever has a flash mount on the top then a bracket to attach it to the stand

Do appreciate you raising this, as I would not have thought to check.

(It's to do with the better protected electronics on the Pentax camera hotshoe that 'lock' depending on the trigger electronics)

Others will only sync at very slow shutter speeds... so it's best to check.

Hadn't realised the cactus v5 also worked as a remote.
At the end of the day I guess they are worth a punt, at under £20 it is hardly high risk.
cheers for the input
I have these triggers now and found the following.
Work fine as a remote have not checked full range but do work though walls and have tested to 30m or so with no problems.
Flash (af200T) fires pretty consistently, but only first fire syncs properly with any shutter speed over 1/30th. However have found that by doing a half press on the transmitter each time before using the shutter button will allow sync up to 1/180th nearly all the time.
I imagine this is something to do with the problem Matt mentioned. I am sure the transmitter could be hacked, but I am just using a bit of blue tack to hold the button half pressed for now.

My main use would be as a long distance remote, but also would like to play strobist. It would seem that they should work with pentax.
The price sounds attractive and AAA batteries for both trigger and receiver adds extra appeal.
Would be used with K10D and old pentax flashes af280t & 200t
