ME Super winding problem

My ME Super has developed the old winding problem, usually occurs after half way through a film, fails to wind then jams etc.

Is this servicable or not, I have heard different reports?

If not Looks like I will be looking for another ME Super.

I have also been recommended to look at a Super A, but do not know much about them, any advice either way appreciated.

The Super A is really a development of the ME Super, and offers the same plus full AE (program), shutter priority AE, and TTL flash. It uses the same accessories (eg winder, etc), plus a motor-drive.

It has a very simple and easy to use interface. I have had many Pentax bodies, and the Super A is my favourite.

Sounds like it might be an option, I love my old ME Super, so this should be an easy transition.

Can you confirm if the ME Super motor wind fits? as looking around recently on the net I thought that I saw an "A Motor winder", I might have been confused though as was not paying too much attention as I was looking for info on ME's at the time.

Might do some more homework on the Super A

Thanks George.

The Super A takes winder ME2, but not winder ME.

It also takes Motor Drive A, which is what you are thinking of. Faster, and scarcer.

Thanks George,

I already have a good ME2 winder so

Not sure that what I am about to say is a good or bad thing, but I find operating my ME Super much easier than my iST D.

Might be down to familiarity with the ME Super, I got my first one in 1982, had it stolen in 1992, then bought a second hand one to replace it.
