Flat batteries?
Was the mirror up when you found it, if so there may have been an issue with it which caused your uncle to put it in the loft to sort out later, but that never happened. I take it your uncle isn't around to ask?

Hi Will,
I unstuck an ME last weekend, and had to do it on several other M series bodies. If you take the baseplate off you can often get have a gentle poke about at the mechanism to release it. I generally take it apart and flush it with lighter fluid before assembling and applying a tiny amount of light oil to the winding/cocking mechanism. Can't guarantee this will fix yours though. I can take a look at it if you wish, I pass by your farm every day to and from work.

Many thanks for such quick responses.
Simon, it would be great if you could stop by, my engineering challenges tend to involve hammers and welders. I am sure a tiny spring would pop out never to be seen again if I started taking it to pieces. I will send you a PM with my phone number.
Thanks for the response John, I think it was stuck up when I found it, but can't be sure.

Hmmm. I'll have to try this on the ME Super which belonged to my father. It too is "jammed." While I have another, black, ME Super I'd like to be able to use this one out of sentiment. I also have his AsahiFlex, the one with 1/2 to 1/500 shutter along with its 50mm 3.5, a 35mm, and the 83mm f1.9, along with extension tubes, bellows, etc. He was an amateur botanist and shot many wildflower pictures. The AsahiFlex needs repair, too.

Send it to Eric Hendrickson.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I know nothing about film cameras but was overjoyed when I found my uncles ME Super in the loft today.
Unfortunately it seems to have issues.
The mirror is up so the viewfinder is black, it is not just stuck to old foam as I originally thought.
The film advance lever is stuck.
The film rewind button is stuck in.
Please let it be simple, Please let it be simple.
I bet it isn't simple.
All advice greatfully recieved.
