Me and Bird Photography

Since circumstances changed at home, I’ve been thinking about getting back into bird photography.

My dilemma was what equipment to go for, having tried and failed with the K-3ll /150-450 or DA300. I say failed, as compared to a couple of friends with the Nikon D500. I’ve also tried to a certain extent with the Fujifilm X-T2, just a feeling it was marginally better than the K-3ll. Was it worth updating to an X-T3 or above? A quick discussion with Blythman suggested the K-3lll was an improvement but not up to the D500.

So it seemed like look for a pre loved D500, but that caused me a worry having seen some in use. They tend to have high shutter counts having been used in machine gun mode.

Then in the middle of my deliberations along comes Firmware Update V2.00

• Added Type 3 to the item of the AF.C tracking AF point method.
• Added focus sensitivity setting item for AF.C.

The reports I’ve seen suggest a leap forward in terms of focus tracking, so that’s it, I’ve bit the bullet and ordered the K-3lll

It says on the Pentax firmware page for the K-3 Mark III firmware version V2.00 the following...

Added Type 3 to the item of the AF.C tracking AF point method.
Added focus sensitivity setting item for AF.C.

What does the first item mean and where is the AF.C focus sensitivity setting, I've looked through the various menus and I cannot seem to see it, unless I've missed it.
