The 1st two shots are rather "worrying", smoke-wise, bit #3's excellently captured, catching the moment when the cylinders ignite, all ready for the big race! Well done, John!!

The commentator at the Pageant of Power today mentioned that Mavis had been at Media City yesterday. Must have meant Wednesday, I took this similar shot at CPOP yesterday:

There's nothing quite like the sound of a 12-cylinder aero engine starting up, especially on open ports and standing next to it. Lovely, lovely vehicle and if you look at Chris Williams (the guy in the bowler hat) and imagine what kind of car he drove, this would be it.

Mavis is a 1930's racing Bentley with a rather large Packard engine.
