A rework of an image from 2015. The old vegetable market in Chartres. Taken with my old trusty K10D

Were they on lockdown then? .......... beautiful photo of it.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

It looks more 1915 than 2015! Very good indeed.

Nice shot - and super processing, it's almost "high-key" but not quite - a really good tonal balance

I always felt there was a good image somewhere in the file, but previous attempts had not left me impressed. I used the HDR slider in Silkypix, then in Photoshop gave separate b+w treatments to the sky and the structure. A bit of dodging to lighten the underside of the roof and I was happy with the result.

I did not cut off the very top of the market building in the original capture, but when using the perspective correction tool I lost the very top. Something to think about carefully when taking a picture.

The emptiness of the place was something I noticed when taking the shot. I am not averse to removing errant bystanders from my pictures but I had to do none of that here.

I went back to the original image and copied the crest of the market building. Increased the canvas size of the perspectively correct version and used the content aware tool to fill in the clouds. Then simply popped the crest on top......
