...............I'm happy enough with having my location known - but I would have preferred my actual name to be unknown .

If I try and remove it - I'm told I have to give it
Are you sure on this point :

Many real names are left blank if you check other members.

Why not try entering technoidiot as your real name :

I see under My Settings that I am over 100 years old

As far as I can see, your real name is not known, so I'm not sure what you mean? Where are you trying to remove it from?
Best regards, John

Sounds like a request for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
... just another middle-aged guy with a hobby. I have an extreme macro learning site at extreme-macro.co.uk - Pentax-centric, your feedback and comments would be appreciated!

Tachno's problem was in his personal information settings John.

It looks like he's resolved the fact that he doesn't like anybody knowinhg his real name is Cecil Phartharder-Rippgripper!
Cheers, HG

Under My Settings, the system would not allow technoidiot to leave the item Real Name blank with no information, hence my suggestion of a 'workaround' to the problem.

Well I've just come home and switched on, I'm happy with all the comments, mandatory was probably the wrong word I used but I still think it would be nice to at least put in your country, It was only an opinion so I'll leave it at that, thank you all for your comments and happy Valentines Day,

Jack.
