Magnolia Field

This was next to the poppy field. As you'll see from the Poppy post I'll do next, the light now 'now' and I rushed to get these before the light went behind a cloud and any sunset light was evaporated.

These all with the K1 and either D FA 24-70mm or Irix 15mm

I prefer the horizontal scapes to the portrait ones, I feel there's much more to take in and explore. All vibrantly bold though, and the saturation (vs the poppies) seems to work for me here. Yellows are easier on the eye than reds, I gather.

Some funny farmers down your way Gareth, growing opium and dyestuffs? .... And calling those bright yellow flowers Magnolias?????
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I spent a few minutes looking at these and trying to find the right words, then I spotted what Serge had written - he's got it spot on. No.2 has all the elements just right for my eyes, with more of the sky than the first it feels closer to the rule of thirds
