Magic Lantern guides

I've heard that the Magic Lantern guides are a pretty good purchase. Having just got my K20D last week, would it be a worthwhile investment? (they are very cheap afterall at approx £10). What would they give me that I can't get from the manual or from support on this forum?

Speaking as someone who bought one for my K10D I personally found it didn't offer "me" much more than the manual. It does explain things better than some of the rather bad translations in the manual and it would be of extreme help to someone who is fairly new to photography.

For someone new to photography who finds it difficult to get their head around focal lengths, effects of aperture, DOF etc then it is a good buy.

I got one and found it an easier read than the manual. Doesn't really say much that you cannot find in the manual, just says it more clearly.

I was a beginner when I bought my K10D (I had a film SLR before and a 'fully automatic' digital camera) and found the Magic Lantern Guides very useful indeed. Highly recommended.

I bought one for the K200 and it is a excellent book for me. I'm a new starter and the main reason why i bought it was because the company who sold me the pentax sent a french instruction manual. The book shows me how to use the pentax as well as helping me out with the photography as well.

At such a reasonable price I ordered one for my K100D, and a new one when I got my K200D. Lots of interesting reading (but then I am one of the few who like reading manuals and guides ).

Much better than the "Operating Manual", much more detail and everything is explained so much better.

I recommend them, as a good buy well worth the price!

Well worth getting - has more text and simple explanations on key features. Once learnt then it makes using a K10D much easier and intuitive.
