Does look like a lovely place, Adrian. Some shots a bit too HDR-ish for my taste but nicely varied and colourful.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Sure is a beautiful place, as these pictures reveal very well. That one above the clouds is amazing, and 3, 5 and 7 work very well too. Yes, the processing shows itself in places, but they're all colourful and sharp and with interesting compositions.

Thanks gents.
All images were single DNG RAW files, but I reckon that the ability software now has to extract details from the shadows might render some images as being HDR?
Like many I'm not a fan of HDR, but never cease to amaze as to how much detail Lightroom can recover from the RAW files.
4 & 6 were taken at the highest point on the island, amazing looking down on the clouds.
Not much in the way of photographic value, but here's how high we were

Regards
Adrian

Did you have to walk up the whole way?!? That is a great feeling, being above the clouds, Iike flying. Hope to see some more of your Madeira photos soon.

No, we cheated in that we were on a day long excursion, with only 6 of us on a minibus.
All but 1 and 5 above were taken on this day.

That's a fair cheat! A worthwhile mini-bus trip.

I'm fine thanks Adrian
Got some shots using my phone of my lad with a rugby player or two yesterday - can't put them here as non Pentax but they are on flickr - awful in terms of quality but the subject matter stands out
I hope all is well with you
