Nice pics Dan. This is possibly (definitely) way off topic now but the type shown in my pic has an unusually shaped opisthosoma (abdomen) and is abundant here in southern spain.

Trouble is, their web is at about 30 - 45 degrees from the verticle and they always seem to favour sitting head down on the underside of the web making it very difficult (and possibly dangerous) to get a good head shot.

To get low enough to get a shot of the eyes, the only background you see is sky, not ideal, hence the black backdrop. I just couldn't get the backdrop out of the sun on this one which is why it's not black.

And we have this other spider I think its a golden Orb and it weaves a debris trail into the web behind it too make it look bigger too predators.
The smaller spider above is the Male

Well, I used flash for my pic. It might even have been an AF140C but I can't remember now.

Here's a tip, Clarky.

Your AF080C is an excellent flashgun, but it will only fit lenses with a filter diameter of 49mm.

However, thanks to the digital crop factor, it will happily work on your K10D with the FA 100mm 1:2.8 (58mm filter diameter) using a stop-down ring, and with NO vignetting.

Trigger voltage is OK on the K10D, i.e. I will not fry my lovely K10D???

I looked at the manual link and on the battery side it says 6, but somewhere else I saw it takes 4 AA batteries.......

Pentax make their flash systems very, VERY tolerant. There was an email somewhere from Pentax that said "up to 300V" was ok
EDIT: HERE.

On the video for the new K20D they make the point very clear regarding their PC socket and say it explicitly.

It's the Canons that have big problems getting fried

You will find that ANY Pentax flashgun will work on the new bodies (albeit with some provisos. i.e. that TTL mode will not work correctly).

The "A" and "M" modes will trigger just fine!

I saw that too when i was reading the manual. Its definately only 4 batteries.
There was quite a discussion about the trigger voltage of the AF080C in another pentax forum but i can't seem to re-locate it. some of the guys had checked it and said it was fine although they didn't post what the result was.
One guy contacted Pentax himself and they said it was ok to use on the K10. So i wouldn't be too worried.
BTW my AF080C and pentax D-FA 100mm macro arrived today. I had a bit of play with it, I like what i see so far.

Thanks Matt. I shall look forward to being the winner of the AF80C that I have bid for. I plan to use it with my two SMC-DFA 50/100 lenses.
