Hiya all

Bit of advice/your opinions if you wouldn't mind please

How effective would one of the reversing adapters be for a spot of macro used in conjunction with my Pentax A 50mm f/1.7 lens?

I realise that its not going to be anything like a true macro lens, but wouldn't mind giving it a try although must say its not really my thang

Cheers and have a good weekend

the Pentax A 50mm + a reversing ring will give you ~1:2 (I think, someone please correct me if I am miss-remembering)

The focus will be fixed so you have to move the camera/subject to bring the subject into focus. Also you will have to stop down the aperture manually.

Optically the results from this setup will be pretty good, not quite what you'd get from a true macro lens but probably the best way to try it out on a tiny budget.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

You get even more magnification by reversing a 28mm lens.

Also, reversing a 28mm onto a 135mm can give interesting results.

My brain hurts at the thought of that John.

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

Unfortunately i don't have one though, so looks like its the 50mm for now.

If it goes ok, might have a look on the bay for one of those
