I have tried a number of lenses reversed and the one I found that gave the best results is the pentax Takumar SMC 1.8 55mm, Its a screw mount but who cares you don't use that end anyway
That's handy to know if I ever come across one. Just out of interest what lens is the best for copying slides. I've just tried the 50mm A Macro and it causes purple fringing, which I've never seen from that lens before. The f/1.7 Rikenon wasn't too bad. Non of them were reversed, it's not needed at the distance I'm working using Pentax Slide Holder 'K' and two Helecoid Extension tubes.

Sorry shim, I do own the Pentax slide copier K but I have never used it, its sitting in its box in pristine condition. I don't have any slides to use with it i'm afraid.

At a guess, I would try the Pentax M 50mm Macro, but it may not be any different than the A version. ::

I wonder how the 77mm ltd will work with it :

Thanks, Clarky I've still quite a few lenses to try Pentax 50's, f/1.7 and f/1.4 etc. I used a couple of Enlarging lenses on the bellows OK with 63-75mm focal length, but I'm just trying to put something together that's a bit more portable, that I can leave assembled for quick use.
