Mac or PC?

Another reason why I'm really glad my Eee PC runs Ubuntu Linux!
I just need to sit down and learn to use the GIMP properly now. To use a camera analogy, if Photoshop is a K7 then the GIMP is an MX - can do all the same things, but requires a bit more user input to get the desired result.

Actually, this topic is like beating a dead horse.
Some find to Windows to be to their advantage, some Mac OS, and other Linux, all for a variety of reasons. It really boils down to what one is comfortable working with, one's budget, and finally if they can what they set out accomplished.
I run both Windows 7 and Mac OS Snow Leopard. I find plusses and minuses with each, but in the end I get what I am working with accomplished with the results I am happy with.

Well as far as the article goes at least Bill Gates has a foundation and gives huge amounts to charity. Not something Steve Jobs is known to do.
It sounds like someone got ahead of themselves on this project and cocked up mega. Doesn't mean it was the BGF though.
As far as the other argument goes Photomonk is right it is a dead horse. There are pluses and minuses, and viruses for both.

Just because they both run large computer companies doesn't mean that their wealth is anywhere remotely similar. Gates could give away 90% of his fortune and still have more than Jobs. Also, Gates might not have given so much as you think. On paper the Gates Foundation has around 30 billion to play with, but only about 200 million of that was from Gates. The other 30 billion is ALL from Warren Buffett.

oh and for those that don't get the joke... the mac vs pc debate was the first thing that popped into my head when I read about the lab in the news... why? because every mac vs pc debate ends with a discussion about viruses! hence my thread title. I found the irony hilarious, not the lab closure.

The MadTV skit came to mind for me as well, but adding to that, it seems many people find Apple synonymous with Mac, so they'll call it the Mac iPad... "Macsipad". It all just fits so poorly, I cannot imaging the marketing team or Steve would have let that through.

but I read this article, (link) this morning, and immediately asked myself...
How could anybody not connect the dots... between Microsoft to Bill Gates to viruses and not see this coming?
Preventing viruses? Gates? Doomed from the outset, I think...
