Nice shots some of the very early Takumar lenses
were better than the non-SMC 1960/70's stuff.
I've got a 1959 Pentax Auto-Takumar 55mm f/2 which I paid
about £30 for and it gives the A Series 50mm f/1.7 a good
run for it's money

In 1954, the Asahiflex IIB was introduced. The key development of the IIB was the introduction of the instant-return mirror, the first camera ever to feature this innovation. Prior to the IIB, SLR viewfinders would black out after taking a picture, and the mirror would reset when the film was advanced.
