I have been to Glossop today and was given some old photos of Louis Armstrong, in 1962 in Manchester they where taken with a very old pentax ,The Asahiflex was the first 35mm camera manufactured by Asahi Optical Company, now better known as Pentax. The first of the series, the Asahiflex I, was introduced in 1952. The Asahiflex I was the first Japanese SLR brought to market.

In 1954, the Asahiflex IIB was introduced. The key development of the IIB was the introduction of the instant-return mirror, the first camera ever to feature this innovation. Prior to the IIB, SLR viewfinders would black out after taking a picture, and the mirror would reset when the film was advanced.

SO HERES SOME PHOTOS OF LOUIS ARMSTRONG, IN 1962, Oh and no Flash photography was aloud. please follow link

Nice shots some of the very early Takumar lenses
were better than the non-SMC 1960/70's stuff.

I've got a 1959 Pentax Auto-Takumar 55mm f/2 which I paid
about £30 for and it gives the A Series 50mm f/1.7 a good
run for it's money
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff
