I'd go for the brolly. It is more flexible. You can use it to reflect the light, or shoot through it. And it is also a lot easier to carry.

I have a wescott apollo mono 2218.... it's mini softbox/umbrella.... works pretty good..
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

What options do I have in terms of softboxes that are compatible with hotshoe flashes?
