Looking for a cheap manual flash

After buying a Jessops 360afd which performed erratically on my k-30 I'm looking for a cheap flash that will work for macro photography. Any ideas? I'm not prepared to pay the exorbitant prices for the Pentax 360 or 540.
Thanks
Jamie

Yongnuo is your friend. Good quality manual flash guns (YN-560 ii or iii) based on a venerable Canon design and superb value for money at around £50-£60. I reckon the build quality of mine is better than the mid-range Metz I used to have. Only issue is the macro thing - would a ring flash be better ideally?

No idea how good they are but you can buy led ring flashes on eBay pretty cheaply.

If your looking for a ring flash that works mighty fine with the K30 then look no further than the Viltrox JY-670 which can be had for around £70 on eBay. It does not matter which one you go for (Nikon or Canon) as the hot shoe is a one pin affair.

Here's a short ring flash review page..

And here's a thread from the other forum, "note" this flash has problems with the K5II bodies, work fine with the K30 and K3 though ...........

LED ring flashes are hopeless for moving objects and that includes snails
