I know Gary but I was looking for a quick response I was after a pentax 645n but the prices have gone crazy since 10th March !!
O and now the are also only selling pentax 645's as body's only

Then get the 645E.
As it if MF, quality will be superb. Mamiya lenses are excellent and only the choice of film will vary the quality of the final image, not the hardware.
Owning non Pentax cameras is not a cardinal sin, even on this forum.
People here are very generous.

I bought the camera at a good price £150.00 with 80mm lens

If you're flying and taking it as hand luggage let the security guys know that it's a film camera and ask them to pass it over the x-ray machine to avoid any chance of ruining film. That goes for any exposed films as well.
Modern machines are supposed to be 'safe' with film, but...

And never put any film, exposed or not, in hold luggage. The xray scanners they use on hold bags are much more powerful (presumably because a suitcase has more stuff in it to scan than a small briefcase) and therefore have a higher chance of screwing up film.

The only problem I ever had was some rolls which had been through around 8 machines at least on an extensive trip, slow emulsions were find but 400ASA had some print through on the sprocket holes and slight lowering of conrast - nothing at all to worry about. The machines are fine

I have put film --- admitted slow stuff like 64 ASA or 125 SAS --- through both hold and hand-luggage scanners and ne'er a problem. The only time I sent it round was when I did an internal flight in Romania in 1992 and they were still using hand-cranked x-ray machines covered with "not film safe" stickers... I am not sure they were passenger safe either!

thank you for the advice a bout film and x-ray machines
I went into Jessops today and bought a roll of film for when the camera arrives bloody £5.00 and wait for it £6.00 to proses it as well with NO scanned CD so I'm now looking for a better supplier of film and going to proses the film myself and flat bed-scan the neg's and convert in photoshop
advice on suppliers greatly received
can you buy a day light tank for 120 film ??
