I learned my lesson regarding the viewfinder when I stopped looking through it for every shot and began using the LCD screen for changing settings (when taking multiple macros, for example). Even if it is shaded it will make a difference and I now put my left thumb over it while using the remote in my right hand. (The official cover for it is in my bag somewhere!)
EASY. CHEERS Vic.
Has the added advantage of pulling off hair'n'dust when you remove it.
(Wasn't my idea, Mike Browne on YouTube mentioned it's what he uses)
I was out yesterday and took a few long exposures using live view with a 10 stop ND filter. ....
Did some experimenting today and guess what caused it ?
Not covering up the viewfinder !!!
Is it not the case that the viewfinder is blacked out during live view operation? Does that not mean that no light can enter through the viewfinder then?
