Can't comment on the camera not formatting the card. However have you tried accessing the card from the PC whilst card is in the camera using the USB lead?
I recall SD cards refusing to be written to by the PC, but could do it whilst card was in the camera!

Have you checked the locking switch on the card. Mine sometimes moves with inserting and extracting the card from the reader.

Where did you buy these from? There are a lot of fakes out there.
If a card has become so corrupted that it cannot be written to or read from then return it as faulty. You will be entitled to a replacement (or theoretically a repair but that is unlikely).

Thanks for the replies. Just to go through what i've done so far:
Tried formatting with both cameras (the Panasonic as well) and the PC but no luck.
Check the lock switch, its not in the locked position. Moved it up and down to be sure.
Cards bought from Mymemory. Never had any problems with them until the K30 arrived. Filled them up a couple of times and reformatted.
Thrown away the packaging but do still have the electronic receipts. Will contact Sandisk, see about sending them back.
Thanks again.

Go online and set-up a SanDisk account.
Register the two cards on there with the Place and Date of Purchase. Also register any others.
Then call SanDisk on Monday, tell them the problem and they will ask for you user name. They will be able to see the two cards - and that is enough for proof of purchase.
They will ask you to send them back when they produce the RMA number - but signed for service to the Czech Republic will cost around £6.58 if you want it tracked in the UK or £40 tracked for the whole journey.
Personally, I just send them First Class as that has around £50 of compensation for loss.
I sent one back a few days ago, my second this year, took 3 days to arrive and the replacement is being couriered to me at present. Their system is good and efficient - even if it takes time.

Your contract is with MyMemory so contact them first. Try using their on-line chat and see what they say.

Will contact MyMemory Tuesday and see what they say.
As the cards only cost £29.28 for the pair, i doubt i'll send them back to Sandisk if the postage is too high. Hopefully MyMemory will be able to sort it.

Sending to Jersey may also cost you a similar amount and you may need to wait for them to return them to SanDisk.

As a result of the K30 freezing on multiple occasions while writing a RAW file it appears two of my Sandisk Extreme 16Gb cards are now permanently locked or corrupted. Cannot be formatted by the camera or PC. If they were just cheap rubbish cards i wouldn't be too worried but they are less than a month old and can't really afford to throw away £30.
Anyone ever have any success fixing a locked card?
