For Scarborough:

PC World }_ It's the same shop! - K-r twin lens kit in stock
Curry's.....}
Comet - no Pentax stocked
Jessops - no Pentax stocked
Argos - Out of stock in the 10 nearest stores
Currys - a branch 20 miles away - K-r twin lens kit in stock

I note their site is using the American term 'Zipcode' rather than our UK 'Postcode,' yet it's a .co.uk site with their server in Germany.

I think I'd direct you to SRS or Park Cameras, to name but two, where there is everything Pentax at excellent prices.

As long as we can get supplies of what we want, for now I don't see this as a problem. No doubt in due course the new company will address whatever shortcomings there are.
Best regards, John

Perhaps it would be better if their 'find a dealer' page said that!

Maybe so, but we know here where to look. Perhaps someone could usefully drop a line to the website and tell them that there are some things that need attantion and what, specifically, these are. IMHO that would be useful and constructive.

Hi John and all,

I wasn't meaning to be 'un' constructive. Just curious under the new regime.

I bought my KR and some kit from SRS without seeing it first like most of my gear. Last time I checked on the UK site they still had our Chemist in town 'Dents'. They were a main dealer in film days! At least that entry has gone.

I'm amazed that Sheffield with over 500,000 population has no Pro dealer though!

But you do have a branch of Jacobs with Pentax gear in stock.

As has been said many times, all current DSLRs should do a decent job and its best to handle each option before buying into a system. So, its a case of going into Jessops to try the 7D and the D7000, and NOT the K5

If the Pentax PR lady is still viewing - and was pleased to see she posted here again today - I feel sure she should know the best contacts within the company to feed that sort of information back to. Certainly better (I suspect) than any of us would. It would be helpful if the site also gave contact details for their Web Team to deal with such issues.

They're not trying to be helpful. They're having a whinge.

But you knew that.
