Llanddwyn Island sunset - Anglesey North Wales

Had a wander along my favourite beach tonight & managed a few sunset shots, here's one of several

I love the sky - excellent capture!

If it were my photo I'd be tempted to crop it to a more panoramic format with the horizon falling about half way and the foreground from the bottom of the steps downwards removed.

great watermark

Is it really necessary for posters to wreck their images here with watermarks? Who is going to rip-off an 800 pixel wide picture?

Sadly yes it is,

Only recently starting using watermarks because I also thought that no-one would be so underhand as to use my images - unfortunately I was proven wrong, more than once.

I now watermark all my images in an effort to further discourage certain individuals

I'm not happy with the situation but it seems its necessary, apologies but such is life !!

Another site I go on (motorcycle related) one of the members had a problem with a Ebayer using one of HIS photos as cards, and selling them! The Ebayer in question was asked politely to cease using it, and replied, tough, sue me Hmmmm food for thought, but I'm not too worried about my pics yet

Well I'm considering a court case at the moment. An organisation asked to see a portrait with a view to using it on their web sit; I gave them copy to view on CD (no watermark). Yes, you've guessed it appeared on their site 5 times. I sent them a license agreement and an invoice. The picture has now been taken down but I will hold out for the money and raise an action in the Small Claims Court if necessary.

I completely understand why you have to watermark your photos because I have one word for you...

I love that shot! If it didn't have a watermark I'd nick it and call it mine! (Only kidding), but excellent composition and light. If my images were only half this good I'd be the happiest Poppy alive!

I can look past the watermark and I don't blame you for including it. Some years ago was a keen flight simulater fan. During the period when Microsofts Combat Flight Simulaters 1&2 where current I produced many paint jobs for current and new add-on aircraft as well as aircraft flight characteristic files. I bought an aircraft add-on package from PC World to find when I got it home some of my work on the disc!!!! Needless to say I got nothing out of it, because the cost of going to court etc was prohibitive.
I did not do the work for money, but as a hobby, but there was about 200 hours of work on that disc that someone made a bundle on.

Personally of the 2 I prefer the 2nd as it has a little less foreground & the lighthouse is a bit more prominent - sky is nicer too

I also have a portrait version .....

I too prefer the second of the landscape versions but I have to say I think the portrait crop works best of all - suits the shape of the lighthouse perfectly.

That's the one for me! best of the lot.

They are both excellent, well done. But if i had to choose it would be the portrait version for me.
