Lladaff Cathedral

Went on an organised trip to Cardiff at the end of October. Whilst we were ther my wife and I decided to visit Llandff Cathedral. Hope you enjoy.

It looks an impressive building worth visiting. The colours look realistic but the over-bright sunlight on the walls is a bit distracting. Have you done any PP on the images? Which lens(es) were used?

Thanks for turning them upright (why Pentaxuser can't do it?).

I never use any PP as, in my opinion it is a cheat (more thanm a darkroom is/was).
The lens I used is the HD Pentax - DFA 1:3.5-5.6028-105mm ED DC WR which I use as my standard lens.

Regarding the lens, although I don't have a K-1 (and don't intend to get one) I do use the D-FA 28-105 on APS-C and its image quality is impressive.

Regarding PP, as the saying goes - to each his own.

But I wonder - do you experiment with the capture settings in the camera? From the EXIF data it would seem that mostly default settings were used for these images. However, the dynamic range might have been better controlled by applying the K-1's D-Range settings, and/or by making use of the in-camera HDR options.

I did try HDR with my K3 and somebody implied I was stupid as I should change th ISO setting. I have ignored that as, in my opinion, he knows nothing about photography, he is a digital camera nerd.
I always try to take my photographs as if I am still using film. (Kodachrome64)
