Little flash tut

It's about how aperture controls the flash in your photo, it's brought to you in very very lightly manner by Mikey & Andy
link

They also talk about:
- Mikey's dirty lens
- using a soft box as changing room for your model
- that hotel in Columbia are cheap
- food
- random talk
- what leaf to use when doing a #2 in the woods
Enjoy.

Will also name some other tut's by them.
Using a speedlight
1 - about the flash he use, nothing really important link
2 - Shutterspeed link
3 - Aperture link
4 - Flash power link
5 - Final (live shoot) link
ps. yes they forgot ISO, Mikey blame the beer and Andy blame Mikey's genes.
Simply ISO controls your overall exposure so ambient and flash.
If you go from ISO 200 to example 400 you gain 1 stop of flash power (double the guidenumber) and 1 stop of ambient light and vice versa of course.

Light modifiers
1 - link
2 & 3 - link

We also have of course the stobist.com where you can also learn how to use speedlights as studio lights but sometimes it's good to hear a different approach to explaining something, sometimes it can make more sense.

ps. I've no idea why I did this (probably boredom) but hopefully someone will find it useful or at least entertaining

I'm Dutch and I neither understand tut or pacifier in this context.
Tut or Tutje generally being used to describe a uptown girl with a rather "spoiled" attitude.

edit: looking again the coin dropped......tutorial
leaves the unexplained pacifier.......
Best regards,

Martin.

Mike,

As I recall, Colt had a Peacemaker model?

Martin - The pacifier would be a child's dummy.

Although, pacifier and peace have such lop-sided connotations - witness Pax Romana (cue Womble, stage right ) et al...

I suspect that their use of not totally unphotogenic young ladies to illustrate their points is not unrelated to your enthusiasm for this series of tuts.

N'est ce pas?

Sorry I thought that tut was common internet talk, now I know that on this forum proper English is better but I always write tut for some reason

Yes I forgot about that kind of tut, but here in our part of the country a tut is also a pacifier don't know if it's the same on your end Martin.

And this a pacifier:

I thought "little flash tut" was being rude about King Tutankhamun's tastes...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Yep already showed that one, I'm glad they are so light headed and not so serious like many other photographers.

Oh how quickly we fall into the world of pixel peeping!! A quick video to show a little humor into the somewhat (understatement) overblown world of pixel peeping, lens alignment and every other problem that cameras have on the internet. Remember people, the cameras now are ALL amazing...if your pictures suck...it's you!!!!
Sometimes they say good things
