Lovely image. Have you thought about a square crop (and loosing the top part of the image)?

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thanks, Alan.
Yes, beginning to get the hang of it after a very shaky start earlier this year!
Something like this, Womble?

I think it helps the image. Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks, Frogfish.
They were yellow. You can just make out the shape of one, ruffling the breast feathers where it's standing on one leg, the other held up.

Two things perhaps, Alan.
1. It's quite a decent crop.
& 2. I compensated the original exposure by 1 1/3 stops because of the brilliant white bird against the very subdued b/g. However, when I processed it, the b/g needed lifting because it was (then, deliberately) under-exposed, hence the noise. (Which I don't mind, by the way.)
Would there have been a different/better way round the white bird, dark b/g conundrem?
I've also now removed the twig growing out of its back!
Roger.
