Light Tent or Millenium dome

I've been given a Light Tent (as seen on 7dayshop) and according to the bag its supplied in it's a 32" model. Anyone contemplating this item would be better served looking at something a little smaller, as it would be ideal as a "Wendy House" for a child or a kennel for a large dog.
The sides are kept up with the sort of spring used in reflectors which can catch you by surprise, also by the nose, eye, and under the chin so haven't tried to get it back in the bag yet.
Any hints on lights to use with this, so far I think a pair of builders halogen lights 400w on special offer at Wicks would just about illuminate the inside of it.

I got a cheap one of these tents from ebay that sounds like it is about the same size.

It did not come with any instructions and taking it out of the bag it just sort of exploded into shape I could not then work out how to fold it up and get it back into its bag . Fortunately I found some useful instructions, with pictures, here.

Traditionally I think you need three lights, one each side and one for the top but I get away with just the two at the sides without much trouble.

I'm using a couple of small lights with 25w daylight low-engey fluorescent bulbs which seem to work quite well. They look like these ones here but it was a couple of years ago and I don't think I spent as much as being quoted now. They felt a little bit cheap, although so-far have given great service, and I suspect that much of the cost is for the bulbs.

The advantage with these bulbs is that they run quite cool and I have been known to fix a hankie over the front to make a pseudo soft-box. I certainly would not want to do that with a 400w halogen .

Yes Glyn, my tent looks just like that. Clicked on the link for the lights and they are a bit more than I'd like to pay. All the "reading lamps" seem to use those small, more like a spot light bulb where the shade is just slightly bigger than the bulb. There is a couple of lamps on the B&Q site which look like they could be adapted for this use, they seem to have a bigger shade to spread the light.

Might have a go at folding the tent tonight as I don't think there is much on the telly
