So just won this on eBay, the Lensbaby 2.0 with the 0.6x wide angle/macro lens as well.

Any tips of how to get the most out of it?

Also, anyone got any sample images they have taken themselves?

Gareth... I have a Lensbaby, the model after this one I think, which I do use every now and then when I fancy mixing things up a bit... will dig out some photos and post when I have a mo with some thoughts... you'll enjoy though I reckon... great fun...

Thanks bill. Had a little play and dang it can be hard as as soon as you've found the sweet spot and it's in focus you move a micro muscle and it's gone! Learning curve ahead! May even buy the wife some nice flowers, cause I love her ......

I have the Muse somewhere, which is very similar to this in use.
I've found it very difficult to control though perhaps it's just the viewfinders insufficient to judge shots.
I don't find the focusing system stable enough to use it with liveview.
My home made plunger-cam (an enlarger lens mounted via a steering gaiter) was much the same, but added the option of a little bit of shift too.

I'd like to try the control freak version, but can't justify the expense.

Gareth... as promised, here are a few LensBaby shots... not the greatest, but it'll give you some idea... I have the Composer Pro, which I got off ebay... I tend to use it when I fancy shaking things up a bit... I've tended to have the most success with it when using it as a tilt shift lens, or for drawing focus to a specific point... Like Mike above, I've found it pretty tricky to control... using at f2.8 is especially tricky I've found (and the blurring in the corners can be pretty agressive - a bit like motion sickness)... very very hard to pinpoint focus (I've just missed it in one or two of the shots I've posted below)... I tend to use it these days somewhere around f11... easier to control focus, not so mad in the corners... increasingly, I tend to use it most often in conjunction with something else (eg I do a fair bit of ICM with it, also Multiple Exposures and it's a good IR lens), and have ended up with plenty that's pleasingly weird... anyway, good luck with it... am sure you'll enjoy it, it's great fun, and does definitely give you a different perspective... hope the foot's healing well...

Lensbaby lenses are fantastic to play with, its the letting go and seeing things in a freer way that I found the difficult bit. I had a Lensbaby Twist 60 in for review and enjoyed using that, but it's different from yours in that the lens didn't bend. They make us think in a new way that puts less emphasis on technical quality, that's for sure.
Best regards, John

Thanks Bill & JR.

Appreciate the images, the effect can be pretty cool When back up and running I'm fancying taking it to Cardiff when it's heaving with people and seeing what I can get then.

I'm hoping also that when the festive season is here and the tree is up then the Lensbaby should make some artistic images. Totally agree with you JR, when I was trialling it out the focus would be ever so slightly off and I'd be binning the image but as you say, you have to free your mind and embrace it!
