Oops deleted my question by mistake

My question was the diff between M, A and K lenses with relevance for use on a K5

There are basicly 3 tpes.
M & K don't have auto aperture or auto focus.
Because the lens doesn't have auto aperture you can only use the manual mode of the camera and use stop down mettering to get a "light reading".

A lenses have auto aperture and therefore you can use the lens normaly but you don't have auto focus.

the F, FA, FAJ, DFA, DA & DA-L lenses all have auto focus en auto aperture so no restrictions.

The AF is a strange lens, don't know if you have auto focus with that one or not.

Surely best bokeh lens is the 50-135mm???

The 50-135 is a bit strange with his bokeh.
I quite love it except when it's right behind the DOF, it then gets quite distracting but in some photos that looks lovely though.

I hadn't really heard of Bokeh until about 10 months ago so am no expert.

I think I get that it is the characteristic of the Out of Focus area in a picture.

So when you say "Bokeh" I always think of the pretty little OOF twinkling lights.

But am right in assuming that it is the quality of any part of the image not perfectly in focus??

Yes and to be more precise it's about how the light is distributed.
You've the kind that has most of the light ad the edges so they look like donuts and give a harder kind of bokeh.
The first one here is a good example.

This one shows you the kind with most of the light in the middle, making them look softer.

The whole image is actually build up by those OOF twinkling lights but most simply blend together.

If you mean the one-off 35-70mm f2.8 with the battery pack hung under the lens barrel then no, it'll only auto focus with an ME-F. It works like an M series zoom on everything else.

Yes that's the one, wasn't sure the AF was independent or not.
It does have Auto-aperture right?.. no it doesn't ^^;

Nope, aperture is the same as any other M series lens. It's basically an M 35-70mm f2.8-3.5 but with constant f2.8 and the battery/motor housing underneath.

I haven't handled the lens but I do have a rather battered ME-F (keeping as if I can find a tidy dead one I can refurbish it). The focus confirm isn't really as good as the split focus screen for getting it right quickly...
