Lens Types

I was under the impression that each manufcaturer had standard lenses for all products ie all Pentax lenses will fit to every pentax DSLR?
Is this incorrect?
I have a K-50, which type of lens mount does this have?

Nearly all K mount lenses will fit a Pentax DSLR. There are a small number of exceptions and these are all old 3rd party lenses made for film cameras. All current and recent K mount lenses will fit.

You can use pretty much any Pentax lens, all the bayonet ones certainly and even the screw thread ones dating back to the 50s and 60s, with a simple adapter.
