Lens stuck on camera body

think we should rub it in about the little trick that involves snapping the lens release button while turning the lens to jar the pin loose from the af screw with out actuallt damaging anything?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Thats an absolute cracker of a story and i do believe he was actually enjoying himself
Don: your idea seems to make a lot of sense and appears obvious to me. So you just break off the lens release button and remove the spring holding the pin into the AF screw hole and wriggle it somewhat until the pin drops out. Is that your meaning :

nope, just press the button down, and slide your finger off the button, allowing it to "snap" back.

Many years ago I witnessed a trainee electrician ask "Is this (3 phase supply - 440 volts 100 amp) live?". His supervisor replied " I don't know, cut through it and see".
The trainee did what he was advised and cut through all 4 wires. He was on a step ladder at the time. The resulting explosion threw him off of the step ladder, welded his cutters together, and shut the factory down for 2 hours whilst the damage was repaired.
The moral: To trust is good, to check is better.

Back to that Albinar lens that was stuck, you can generally get them off by carefully sliding the .005mm blade of a filler gauge between the lens and body near the AF drive while wiggling gently and holding the lens release button at the same time (it also helps to have a friend to help). I released a few like that.
