Hi, I have just bought k200d from a forum member and will be buying a lens for it, need one before the weekend so in a bit of a hurry! I need to have as much zoom as I can get but with a tight budget so I was thinking maybe tamron 70-300mm or maybe sigma 70-300mm? any advice on these lenses or which one is better? and there are several different types as well, are there better models I should look out for, LD or DI or whatever, thanks jacqui.

For a high-range zoom on a budget, the best option for Pentax is this:

There is also a DAL version which has a plastic mount, no hood and no manual AF over-ride (quick-shift). It's usually around 100 quid cheaper, but I can't find any available on the internet. The "normal" DA version has superior build and the extras are worthwhile, so I would recommend it over the DAL version.

Hi, yes I would love one of those but budget wont allow at the moment, so I have bought the tamron 70-300mm from srs (used) and I hope that will do me for a while, at least until I can afford something like the 55-300mm,
