Lens Database good idea?

I have just been looking at the Lens Review Database on the Pentaxforums site, it is quite an interesting read getting the reviews of lenses from photographers who actually use the lenses and not just test them.
Do you think it would be a good idea to set something like this up on this site?
Have a look and see what you think (I'm sure most of you already have).

There is a very good set of reviews on Stan's site. http://stans-photography.info/ and Boz's site give the basics. I am not sure we could add much to those. (Unless of course it was for Pentax versions of the Sigma, Tamron etc.)

I for one would like to see a forum for reviewing third party lenses. Not all of us can afford the expensive Pentax lenses. One example i can give is the Sigma 70-300 which seems to have numerous variants and i can't seem to work out which is the better of the bunch.

Agreed, but as John points out, there is a sister site which already specialises in such discussions and this is a Pentax site. Besides, on Photodo, you will get more opinions because there will be people who use such lenses on the other brands of bodies.

Stans site is great, but it is very out of date these days. It still lists the FA28-80 as "new" and doesn't mention the DA series lenses at all.

I would love to see an up to date version, particularly if it included other lens makers besides Pentax. A Pentax site it might be, but most of us have at least one 3rd party lens and in some focal ranges there is no Pentax option available.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help
