Lens cases - any recommendations?

Pentax seem to make some very nice cases but they're a bit spendy.

Are there any cases in a similar format for less than the cost of a week's groceries?

Ive got some very cheap neoprene pouches from China which are excellent but some lenses are a tight squeeze.

The pentax format is preferable but at £60 a pop, they seem ripe and deserving of a chinese rip-off.

Try Camera care systems cases.

Mostly available second hand as the company closed but they were very well made and had a lifetime guarantee. Web site is still on line, link, if you want to see the range.

Always a few on ebay, even one seller selling new(think he bought up the stock when the company closed). I have several and they keep out the rain and protect my kit. Even second hand they are much better than a lot of the other cases available.

Non-Pentax Lens cases can catch fire or even explode and completely destroy your lens!!!!

I like the LowePro cases - you can attach them to your bag and there are a number of sizes.

Another vote for Lowepro, especially as they fit on the exterior of their cases

And if you don't know which size you need, drop SRS a line and tell them which lens(es) you want it for and they'll tell you which ones to go for.

Yes to Lowepro and you cannot go wrong.

OK, so Lowepro it is then. I'll get one to sample. They look slightly bulky but I guess that's the trade-off for decent protection...

I can see a lot of you wincing, but I've also ordered one of these to test out:

Another for Lowepro. I have one for my 170-500mm and fits to the side of my Mini trekker perfectly.
I have had it for a few years and so far not caught fire or exploded.......

I use a couple of of bum bags. most of my little lenses fit in them, adn the side pockets hold spare batteries and SD cards. I've cut two vertical slots in the cases for my 50-135 and 135-400 lenses and have threaded the bum nag belts through them. Sorted!!
