Here in the U.K. stone curlews have become pretty rare, they look almost identical to me but I suppose they are a different variety to your antipodean specimen. Anyhow, an interesting pose and very well captured.

Thanks Rob, no shortage here, there is a herd of 50+ just in my backyard.
