Item 120153470149 for a Tamron 500mm F8 mirror lens just sold on Ebay for an astounding £212.50 plus postage.

Ok the advert is exceptionally well put together and the lens looks in immaculate condition however that's an awful lot of cash.

Just goes to show that putting that extra bit of effort into the advert pays off. It puts my auction ( 280118264282 ) to shame, but still I got £155.00 + postage for mine.

Hi,

Like our Spanish resident says, not lunacy at all, just proves the worth of time taken on an excellent listing. The vast majority of ebay sellers are so lazy they cannot be bothered at all to get anywhere near this level of listing and then wonder why their items sell for tuppence...

cheers Steve.

I know the Tamron is supposed to be a good lens but does it perform sufficiently better than the mirror lenses that can be had cheaper (e.g. the Tokina) to justify the substantial increase in price?
