It's everywhere the same, not just pentax.
Btw IBAN number is quite standard now a days, at least here is.

The IBAN number should be on your bank statement and if not I'm sure your bank would supply it for you.
I suppose Pentax and everyone else will be trying to minimise abuse of the offer.

Presumably though, this could be achieved simply by not issuing more than one rebate for a given camera serial number?

Yes they could but they don't offer cashback on an lens or camera but on the total amount of pentax equipment purchased, so they need a receipt and the barcodes of the products to match them and the IBAN is there to minimize cost, since the money probably comes from a French bank account.

LCE thoughtfully gave me two copies of the receipt, Iban was on my bank statement. My only concern is the barcode on the box was for a K7 kit which was split as I only wanted body-only.

I think it's reasonable to take some precautions against fraud but it is just long-winded. I've always used BACS in UK as do most people and had to google to find where my IBAN code was, but that's fair enough if it's a standard European system. The receipt thing worries me as it is my proof of purchase (do they send it back?) so I am scanning it first and will also send recorded.Cheers, Dave

One might almost think that they didn't want you to claim.
(They could always have cut the price you pay at the till :wink

1. You have to send original receipt not copy which could get lost in the post especially this time of year.
2. Payment method by obscure IBAN number which lots of people won't have to hand
3. Cut bar codes off box - even though entering it on the form defaults to your purchase.
4. Up to 12 weeks for payment.
...... and so on.
