Don't think 'red eye ' reduction would work
Mebbe cropped a tad too much ? You seem to have a bit of an ear - but it was your eye being dealt with .

I love the lighting, and the main subject matter does grab your attention. Good skin tones too. Overall I like it.
I'd have liked to have seen a little space below your chin (looks slightly cut-off at present), and also the ear on the left hand side of the picture could do with either being all in or not at all, but apart from that good work!

If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.
Apparently.

To me, it seems a little pointless to light and compose a portrait like this if its purpose is to show the bloodshot eye. If you wanted to illustrate a possible side effect of LASIK surgery, it would be better to go in really close so that you can see it properly. The rest of the face is irrelevant in that case.No other C&C ?
Conversely, if the purpose is the portrait, then the bloodshot eye distracts, and unless you caption the photo with a suitable explanation, will leave the viewer wondering why.
My preference is usually for pictures that don't need explanatory text to make sense of them. So for me, it's fit for neither purpose as it stands. It might be worth cloning out the red and seeing what it's like just as a portrait. The 'tache adds a fair bit of texture to the shot, so perhaps isn't quite sharp enough. Also, the contrast between the lit and unlit sides is perhaps a touch too drastic - there's virtually no detail at all on the unlit side.
Glad the surgery was a success though

Love the C&C so far - thanks guys. I think one of my big problems lately is trying to figure out an underlying subject / theme that leaps off the photo. The photo is cropped down so I have room to play and show the chin / ear.
Thanks again!

How about this:
Cropped out the stuff that wasn't needed, darkend images down after selecting the eye to make this slightly brighter and some dodging and burning on eye, background and skin
Well if you're going to go in this direction, why not go the whole hog and make it properly demonic - make the whole cornea red around the iris.

Any thoughts on composition / style of the image? Any general C & C?
The experience has definitely made me value my eyesight - a value which I have taken for granted far too often. You're blind for almost a minute during the procedure, and afterwards have to rest the entire day with your eyes closed. Made me realize how much of my enjoyment comes from sight.
