You can see here the same shape/behaviour as a British lapwing, but that extra-ordinary mask turns it into a quite spectacular, exotic creature. Your photos remind me of a trip I once did to The Gambia, where several times a day you would find the most beautiful birds that would make you think "Wow, just look at that!" That's what a lot of your photos do for me, Don - please keep them coming!

What a beauty - never seen even an image of one of these before. You have it nice and sharp with the 2nd one nicely oof; great photo
