My experience in using 3rd party batteries is generally good, some appear to have less capacity than branded batteries but that could be that as they're only used infrequently they may not have had a full charge/discharge/charge cycle.
I've had one total failure where I almost had to use a knife and fork to extract a battery - it had swollen literally overnight.
So maybe I've been lucky.
I've used duracell, hahnel and from Amazon dste batteries

I echo Spinno’s comments. No issues with third party batteries. I think it helps to keep all batteries topped up as they seem to deteriorate more quickly otherwise.

Thank you spinno and smc! It is very helpful to learn about your experiences with third party batteries for Ricoh/Pentax cameras. It seems that these function well, also compared with original Ricoh/Pentax batteries, and can be purchased new today (unlike the DB-65, for instance).

The D-Li109 battery can probably be purchased new here in Norway, but it is very expensive. The DB-65 is out of stock (discontinued) everywhere. Is it in any way detrimental to the KP and GRII to use third party batteries like Wasabi, Hähnel etc., which are easily obtainable?
