Not such a great shot but its such an amazing place I though you may like to see it.

Superb. I walked the Verdon Gorge in France a while back, and that's pretty dramatic. But this looks more so. The walkways were installed many years ago, and are not in the best condition. One day, one of them is going to go.....

Obviously the Health & Safety culture has not reached Spain yet

Actually it has, according to wikipedia this walk was closed in 2000 following several fatalities, apparently people are still managing to get around the barriers.

Makes you wonder how many lives were lost making the walkways. I'd rather take a job in Baghdad.

Been there from a distance, rather you than me, great shots.

Health and safety is taken pretty seriously in Spain.
That aside though, they have chopped the easy access end of the walkway off so as only climbers can get access, to get to the far end where access is easier you have to walk through a few railway tunnels and then descend a steep slope, cross a river and then climb a steep slope so the average tourist is not likely to get there.

A steel cable has been installed for the full length to bolts so as long as you have a harness with 'Cows Tails' you can clip on and if it did collapse you would probably survive.
The second picture is a self portrait on my first recce here where I am not wearing a harness and the 12 second timer kept timing out before i made the climb over the gap and I had to keep trying faster until I got the shot. The first picture was the second trip where we did the walkway wearing harnesses and abseiled off at the far end.

These two photos are great, Steve. I like the sense of scale in the first one.

I see this was posted 10 years ago. The authorities have recently spent a lot of money rebuilding the walkways and putting in safety barriers. It's completely different now, and you have to book in advance due to the demand. It's located in Malaga province, where I live, but haven't got round to visiting it yet.
