They are brilliant Alan. Having spent time trying to see a Kingfisher never mind being able to photograph one all i can say is...

These are a credit to you Alan. Superb captures, that are so so sharp. Can you say a bit moew about your exploit. ie how close did you manage to get ? Did you have some kind of hide ?

Fantastic- stunning - superb - one that has been on my list for a long time but never get close - very well done
Changing the subject Alan - I have been invited up to Blyth by the Blyth Jetski Club to photograph an RNLI fund raising event later this month - never been before - is there any parking close to the beach?

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Stuart, these were at Gosforth Park Nature Reserve near Newcastle. There is a permanent hide. The actual order of the pics on here are 1,5,6 which were about 25ft away and then 3 and 4 which were 10 ft away.

Just to add he? hung around for 8 minutes, although it didn't seem anything like as long as that at the time.
